Well, I do not have much exciting news or any new stitches to post this evening!! Mi is still totally "lividly mad" at us today as her "separation anxiety" always converts to "totally POed" at us by the following day!! So, she has nothing to say tonight either, except "somebody move that Panic Button down where she can paw it and have some company within moments usually"!!

I have had it with the VA!! I will sum it up one day soon when we hear from them again!! My well thought out view as of today is going to stick at "what can they do to me"!! I will play and be nice to them!! Personally, along with Eunice, we do not believe Max has even a slim chance of getting back on the National Donor Transplant List, but I never give up on prayer and miracles!! And, this is in spite of Max's disappearing every chance he could get to go outside and "sneak" (c'mon Max) one cigarette after another right in front of the building we were camped out in for the entire day!! Some one has kept him ticking since the dismal prediction of "possibly six months life expectancy" we heard on August 15, 2005!! My view and plan will stick with "what can they do to me"!! Should Max be given a kidney and/or a liver transplant, which he is definitely so badly in need of I surely will be there front and center!! And, until I see Max
being able to fend for him self, I will consider the "Heartland Inn" as my new home away from home!! However, as soon as Max can hold the television remote, I will replace it's batteries so they are fresh and new and say "Bye, bye Maxwell, see you in a couple days for an afternoon's visit"!! Now, just what is that darn V.A. going to do to keep me at that hospital the 3-6 weeks they have told me I ABSOLUTELY HAVE to prepare for staying at the Heartland Inn alone and then at least another three weeks at the Heartland Inn with Max with me? Hand cuff me to the hospital bed, lock the tires of my wheelchair or perhaps disable the battery? Will they try to charge me with a criminal act, as they did Max when he "Deborah-napped" me out of that "hellhole" Nursing Home I had been placed in, and then, I too, will have a police RAP Sheet? NOT!!
Max has no friends and no relatives, but me!! And, he does not want me sitting day in and day out with him!! He never has wanted this while he was hospitalized, even when I had the use of my legs!! Max is, and always has been, a loner!! And, believe me, he is set in his ways about this and wants to be alone!!

If placed on the north side of our local hospital in a room, you can actually see our home located two blocks away!! There has been many nights that Max slept on the floor with about a two-inch layer of foam rubber under him and if lucky a sheet, blanket and pillow a nurse may find for him!! When I am really bad, Max will simply not leave the hospital for any thing even though it is a two minute commute!! While I laid 120 miles away from our home on full life support Max drove the entire 120 miles up each, and every, morning at first sun rise and returned after he made sure I was settled down for the rest of each evening!! My "Mommy Dearest" was at her regular best when there is crisis and/or tragedy in our family!! She would watch Mi, but Max HAD to return each evening to walk Mi so there would NEVER be any "droppings" in her yard or God forbid on Mi's inside "Piddle Pads"!! And, she had to have dinner brought to her from her choice of the day!! And, Max had to make sure all her garbage was gathered up and taken home with him to our large private "garbage tote"!! Once or twice, she did agree to come visit me with Max and she also did come with him on Thanksgiving Day and agreed to have Thanksgiving dinner brought up to her and ate with Max and I in my room!! Max was so tired by the end of that six weeks of horrific array of different crises that continued to happen the entire time I was there!! Our home had even been robbed during this time and Max did not even notice it had occurred!!

But, when it comes to be his turn to be the one hospitalized he does not want and is adamant about my staying at home!! He says he is more upset about thinking about every thing that could happen to me in the coming and returning home than joy and peace he has from my visits to see him!!

But, as "MoM Eunice" has taught me so many times in the past few years, we will deal with what ever happens when, and if, it does!! So, I am also turning this one over to the Lord to decide what I need to do when the time comes!!

Thus, I will share the wondrous things the United States Postal System brought to me today!! I am not quite sure where the pictures will end up, but I will describe what they are, where ever they may end up on this!!

Hopefully, we will be having one big "HAPPY ROLL" down my yet to be tried new handicap ramp!! Unless, really unforeseen problems pop up, I am planning on this weekend as being my first Cross Stitch finish for 2009!! And, need BIG "HAPPY ROLL" especially as it will be my first 32-Count Linen since my life took such drastic changes!! The delivery man said my Hoveround is capable of doing 40 MPH when opened up!!

Perhaps, that would be even a greater thrill, than the actual "HAPPY DANCE"!!
I live on a hill!! On my 50th birthday I had my usual opening "Summer Singles' Bash" for Memorial Day weekend!! Max and I were separated during those years also!! I belonged to the local "Singles' Club" and my best friend, Patty, and I attended all the surrounding towns "Singles' Clubs" activities!! But, every Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day the parties for all the combined clubs, minimum of 125 people, were at my home!! We had a Volleyball League that played every Thursday evening in the various different cities and Patty and I co-captained our local group's team!! Well, the first year we played around my six foot privacy fence, huge vegetable garden, pool and pool house!! During that summer I decided the fence, garden, pool house all had to go and it did. The fence is stalls in a horse barn some where in Illinois!! The pool house is a tool shed about ten blocks away from here!! The pool went the following year as we played more volleyball than did we get a little moonlight swim and wine in the pool!! The guys finally put in large steel poles, bought an official size net and always showed up to mark the court's boundary during wee hours of game day!! We were complete idiots that were blessed to have two EMT Paramedics among us!! But, we had such fun summers!!

After struggling to fight Patty's cervical cancer for ten months with only her fiance', my fiance' and my self caring for her, she lost her battle seven months before the next Memorial Day weekend which also happened to be my 50th birthday!! I did not even feel like I could continue to hostess our summers any longer, but an "angel" kicked my butt and made me continue on as usual!! All the Groups were doing their utmost best to try and help me get through it!! They got together and planned to have each Group bring a fully decorated wheelchair to celebrate my "going over the line of 49"!! They were holding a contest to see which Group could bring the best decorated chair!! So, the decorating committee simply lined my full drive with decorated wheelchairs as they arrived and different people were assigned to keep me out of driveway view!! It was a great surprise and very funny sight!! However, one thing led to another, and it was decided that we should form teams to take the wheelchairs to the top of my hill and race in them to the bottom of the hill and decide winner of the hill!! My neighbors soon began lining my curbside to view the races in their folding lawn chairs!! Granny Lou still talks about her husband, Jim, who passed about eight years ago!! She said he called her to their window and asked what was flying off the hillside!! Granny Lou said she remembers telling him she thought it was a wheelchair!! I had never had the great "pleasure" of sitting in a wheelchair at that time in my life!! I am going to have to try to reconnect with some of those "younger" fellows from the Groups and see if any one is game for trying out the Hoveround and see just how fast it actually can go!!

Max usually gets me a big bouquet of flowers to celebrate a "finish"!! But, a "linen finish"!! This has to be an extraordinary "Happy Dance" substitution!!

Well, on to the pretty pictures of newest "HOPS" - Hope Of Possible Start -, as I get very few ever finished any more!! But, as many of my nearest and dearest friends have told me it simply does not matter if I ever have another finish and if I start some thing new each day BECAUSE I THOROUGHLY ENJOY EACH, AND EVERY, "X" AND STITCH I DO!!

With no more reminiscing, let's see how close this Blog and I can get to a decent lay out setting up of the pictures!! And, I do intend to incorporate each of these in my newest rotation about to begin soon!!
I HOPE EVERYONE DOES LEAVE A NOTE IF THEY WANT ANOTHER "MILKBONE" CHANCE IN MI'S PICKING THE WINNER OF "AMID AMISH" TWO, POSSIBLY THREE, STITCHED PIECES!!
LOVE AND HUGS,
DEBORAH and MAX
and, MIPREZIOUS, TOO!!

More beautiful stash. Very pretty stuff you’ve gotten, Deborah. I’m trying hard not to be “enabled”. Work Hard looks great, Deborah. You should be finished in not time!
