SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2009 - WHAT A WEEK THAT IS FINALLY OVER, BUT WHAT A WEEK COMING!!!

I have had a week from "Hades"!! However, this coming week has great potential of being worse!!
I need to back up to Mother's Day!! I insisted that I was cooking a lovely "gourmet" dinner for all our neighbors as for one reason, or another, none of their "normal" kids were not visiting them so there was nothing going to be special for them!! My own Mother also attended!!
For one reason, or another, my well planned 2:00 p.m. dinner, which I began at 5:00 a.m. was hours from being done around 2:00 p.m.!! I had Max call every one and tell them to grab a few crackers and delay coming a hour!! Every one was fine with this except "my Mother"!! However, she did comply!! Then closer to 3:00 p.m., I told Max he better recall every one and set it back another hour!!
Granny Lou immediately came over and tried to pitch right in and start helping me, but I explained besides setting the table up there was nothing to do, but hope things got done in all three of my regular ovens!! Well, about 5:00 p.m. Eunice came over and took over command of my kitchen!! Things got done except, I had promised to make Eunice a pitcher of Kool-Aid as that is all she likes to drink!! I started to make it, and she would not let me, but just wanted some lemons and additional sugar for the pre-sweetened Kool-Aid!! I was so tired and exhausted all I wanted to do was get in my stitching chair and never wake up again as I was also so disgusted with myself totally!! That pitcher of Kool-Aid was the best "kick A$$" Kool-Aid I have ever tasted!! Eunice has been trying to uncola me since a year ago at this time. Had she made me this type of her own special mix Cherry Kool Aid, she would have easily succeeded!!
But, dinner was finally put on the table and my special homemade banana whipped cream cake was just the right finish to my barbequed ham balls, rice and brocolli casserole, pasta salad, Walla Walla casserole (was wiped out in first passing), glorified rice and home made bran-pecan muffins were all a big hit and got ate up!! However, I think every one was so hungry the would have ate any thing at this point!!
I got the wonderful lavender tea cup and saucer FTD Mother's Day bouquet and TWO bottles of my favorite of favorite perfumes Tre'sor!! I will include pictures where ever they end up hopefully!!
I also got a Papa and Mama Duck come and nest in a "nasty" Hosta garden to begin with. I will continue this on another page as this Blog and I do not get along well with post pictures and what they are!!
Love and Hugs,
Deborah

Dinner sounds scrumptious!!! You really do overdo it though! It's a beautiful teacup and flowers. Who got that for you? I love the table it's sitting on too, it's gorgeous!!!

What a lovely piece on your table Deborah!
And dinner sounds great.
Also I may have to try your Kool-Aid mix, as I too having trying (but failing) to cut back on the soda.
